Deborah Butler is the director of Deborah's Little Shepherds Child Care, Inc. She has been in the early care profession for over 28 years.

DLS is a Christian based program, that nurtures, supports and provides care for the total child and their families..  Our mission is to provide  affordable child care, Christian principles and values.  We are striving to make a difference in the lives of the children and families that we have been entrusted to care for.
“Elijah’s Mountain” (Preschool)
Kay Bovell is a teacher in Deborah’s Little Shepherd “Elijah’s Mountain Room for preschoolers.  “After living in Atlanta for almost 10 years, Kay expectantly moved to Philadelphia in 2009.  With no professional experience caring for children she started volunteering at Deborah’s Little Shepherds.  Shortly after, Kay was hired, promoted and now oversees the Preschool children.  Prior to her working at DLS, she spent several years on a job that left her feeling stressed and unfilled and she wasn’t sure if she would ever find a job that would bring fulfillment but she was wrong.  Kay found her passion and that’s working with and loving the children in our center.  After His Son Jesus Christ, Kay believes that the children are God’s most precious gift.  Kay believes that they have the ability to learn; they love unconditionally and that they need boundaries.  We all need boundaries.  What turned out as a volunteer experience, led to a full time teaching position which in turn will lead to a career in early childhood education and for that I am very thankful to God for His provisional care!  The past year has been one of the most challenging but it has also been one of the most rewarding.  I know that I am doing what God has called me to do, especially when I see the growth and progress of the children that I’ve been entrusted to care for.  My life has purpose because of Romans 8:25.

“Seed of Abraham” (School Age)
Chantel Harris is a teacher in the "Seed of Abraham Room".  Chantel has been an asset to the Deborah’s Little Shepherds for the past 5years. She loves and enjoys working with, learning with and teaching to the children.
“Seed of Abraham” (School Age)
Yolanda Williams is a teacher in the "Seed of Abraham Room.
“I am a sister of six, that’s where my early childhood skill’s come in. I am a mother of four sons, that’s where my hands on skills come in. Combine those together and it equals, love, compassion, time to understand the different stages of the children that come in my life and the ability to meet them where they are. To wrap it all together I bring my skills and experience to work here at Deborah’s Little Shepherds for seven years and still counting “
